about us

Our Vision for 60 Caledon Avenue is to deliver affordable  and sustainable development which provides good homes to families for generations to come.

Our mission is to address the City of Hamilton’s critical need for affordable housing through the creation of an environmentally sustainable and inclusive community which adds social and economic value to the Yeoville neighbourhood.

Caledon Community Collaborative was formed by Hamilton East Kiwanis Non-Profit Homes Inc. (HEK) and Victoria Park Community Homes (VPCH) to respond to the City of Hamilton’s call for offers on 60 Caledon Avenue. The City made the surplus school lands available for purchase for the purposes of developing a mixed income residential development.

Caledon Community Collaborative undertook significant community consultation from Feb 2021 to July 2022. In response to community feedback a number of enhancements were made to the original design including lowering the overall height of the building . With a supportive community backing the project, conditional site plan approval was given in late 2022.

In the five years since the project began many things have changed. That includes the potential of both organizations to build more housing. In February 2024, the partners came to a mutual decision to proceed with a single owner.

VPCH is one of the oldest and largest private non-profit housing corporations in Ontario, Victoria Park’s portfolio of owned and managed homes has grown to over 3,122 apartments, townhouses, and single-family homes located across Southern Ontario.
